Debra is the co-author of Tears to Laughter: Embracing the Future Without Letting go of the Past. She has contributed to several anthologies, including Tales From a Rocky Coast, Volume 1 and Tales From the Corner. Her thought provoking and whimsical poetry has been published in the SLO Tribune and Woman’s Press. Debra is the current leader of the Friday Night Writers’ Group and she is spearheading an anthology, which is expected out in 2017. She is the Webmaster of kritiquekritics.com and several other websites. She was the Webmaster of SLONightWriters’ website. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Information Systems from California State University, Long Beach. Debra is an award winning author, narrative poet and artist who lives in San Luis Obispo, CA and enjoys working on her writing and Neonesque Artwork design while her three kittens vie for her attention. Debra lives with her husband, German Shepherd and seven cats. The cats give her never ending comic relief and ideas for poems and stories.

Some people say create a “professional” website. Professional to them means write about writing, editing, publishing or social media. I say “be who you are.”

If I wrote fiction, I might think blogging about writing was important. I write creative non-fiction and poetry and I think it is very important to be true to yourself in your writing and all aspects of life. This site is about who I am; it’s not about writing.

I occasionally write a “Techi-Tip,” but that’s probably because I like computers. I’m learning to write fiction, too.

I’ve been an animal lover since I was a child and that’s how I define myself. I care for a feral cat colony–two cats. I lost my German shepherd, December 18, 2021. My beloved four year old polydactyl cat, Dactyl Reinfield Hinkle, died November 2, 2014.

I fostered four baby kittens in April 2016 and I kept three of them: Raven, Ebony and MidKnight. My writer friend B. Carter Pittman has the fourth kitten, Binx.
